Getting started
What ages is Tick & Tock for?
It’s designed for kids ages 4–8, from total beginners meeting the hour hand for the first time to kids polishing minute-perfect reading. The path adapts to where your child starts.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad on the App Store, and Android phones and tablets on Google Play. Progress is stored on each device.
Do we need the internet to play?
No. After downloading, lessons work fully offline — perfect for the car, the plane, or a classroom with patchy Wi-Fi.
How the learning works
How is this different from a worksheet or a generic clock app?
Worksheets can’t give instant feedback, and most clock apps are one spinning dial with no plan. Tick & Tock is a real five-unit curriculum with lessons that build on each other, mixed question types, and encouragement that keeps kids practising.
Does it teach analog, digital, or both?
The focus is reading an analog clock — the hard part — and it connects each analog time to its digital form so both click together.
What exactly do the five units cover?
Unit 1 on the hour, Unit 2 half past, Unit 3 quarter past and quarter to, Unit 4 five-minute steps, and Unit 5 any time to the minute.
How long is a session?
A lesson takes just a few minutes — short on purpose. A daily streak of small sessions beats one long, forgettable one.
Parents & privacy
Are there ads?
None. Not banners, not video, not “rewarded” ads. Zero.
Do you collect my child’s data?
No. There’s no tracking and no data collection. Progress is saved on the device, and the app is built to COPPA and GDPR-K expectations.
Can my kid tap their way to a purchase or the web?
No. Purchases and settings sit behind a grown-up gate, and there are no external links or social features inside the app.
Pricing & schools
How much does it cost?
Unit 1 is free forever. One subscription unlocks all five units, report cards, and shareable progress. You can cancel anytime.
Can I use it in my classroom?
Yes — many teachers do. We offer volume licensing and MDM deployment. See the Schools page or email us to get set up.
How do I restore a purchase on a new device?
Open the app, go through the grown-up gate to Settings, and tap “Restore purchases.” Your subscription is tied to your app-store account.
